Birth Control Survey

Exploring the contraceptive needs, desires, preferences, and experiences of Black, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Latina/Latinx people in the United States

If you’re interested in participating, please click here to answer a few questions.

What is the study about?

This study aims to center the diverse and rich perspectives of Black, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Latina/Latinx people in the United States in order to better understand your birth control use, preferences, and experiences before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, we aim for the findings to inform how health systems can better meet the desires and needs of all people.

Why participate?

There is little information documenting the contraceptive needs, desires, preferences, and experiences of Black, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Latina/Latinx people in the US. The more we can document your stories – both positive and negative - about seeking or obtaining contraception, the more we can advocate for this information to be part of improving how people access information and services. Individuals who choose to complete the survey will receive a $25 gift card.

Who designed this study?

This survey was created by organizations that work with or for Black, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Latina/Latinx communities including Black Women for Wellness, Bold Futures, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Ibis Reproductive Health, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, and Native American Community Board. We are committed to exploring the diversity within racial/ethnic groups by describing findings within and among groups.

How is the study being conducted?

The survey can be taken online or by telephone. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Eligible participants can do the survey in English, Spanish, Urdu, or Vietnamese.
